alterMy small Motherland is the city of Belyov of Tulskaya region. That was rich of talented people. So I am glad that I was born there.

What is talent?

«The master called his servants and entrusted his property to them.  To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability.  Then he went on his journey.  The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more.  So also, the one with the two talents gained two more.  But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money».

But it is only in the evangelical parable. In the real life it is quite different.

One day I with my godfather, Kludov Peter, went to the art-shop in Niznaya Maslovka Street to buy some paints and some brushes. The Painter’s House is rather big, but not all painters have their own shops, that’s why they have to show their sculptures in the streets. And it was clear that not every figure can impress on people. It made the think about. And I understood that it depend upon talent of a painter or a sculptor. When I was 10 I became, to my happiness, a pupil of one of the famous painter Vera Pestel, who organized a group for some pupils within Historical Museum. This group was named “Studio for school-children” I was very excited and tried very much when she asked me to make the first painting. She approved this work and I was chosen of all the children by her as the best and talented. We were four her pupils: Karabut Viylen, Pavlov Vyacheslav, Kirillo Alexander and me. Vera Pestel put in our souls the firm basis on which my creation is. She brought up our spirit, morality and professional mastery. Under her leading we collected the reproductions of the great painters, began to differ the work of different countries. With her we visited many estate-museums near Moscow, such as Arkhangelskoe, Kuskovo, and Tsaritsino and so on. But the most brilliant was the visit to the flat shop of Lev Fyodorovich Dzegin-Shekhtel, the son of the famous architect Shektel. Lev Fyodorovich and his friend Chekrygin were the organisators, of the Art-associations “Macovets” and “Painting Way”. The general ideas of these associations were: form, color, image. The members of these associations such painters as Dzegin-Shektel, Chernyshov, Kuprin, Istomin, Zefirov, Ryndin, Fedorovsky, Osmerkin, Yakulov and so on. Those paintings, which we saw in the flat-shop of Lev Fedorovich, impressed me very much. I saw many originals of M.Larionov, whose painting works were left by him at the Lev Fedorovich’s flat-shop when he emigrated from our country. The painters use colors, but paint with their feelings. The painters are the peoples from God, and they are creators too. They must create, but not copy the nature, created by God. Our teacher Vera Pestel died in 1962, but the basis, which she but in our souls, gives the strength and opportunity to create up till now.
